Founding and Early Years (2015–2017)

PAKAR Healthcare Consulting Nigeria Limited was incorporated in June 2015 under the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC: 126576) with a vision to bridge critical gaps in Nigeria’s healthcare sector. Founded by Dr. Bello Arkilla Magaji, a seasoned public health expert, the company began as a small consultancy firm in Sokoto, Nigeria, driven by the acronym PAKARProfessionalism, Accountability, Kindness, Accuracy, and Respect. These core values became the bedrock of its operations. Initially focused on healthcare training and research, PAKAR quickly gained traction by partnering with local healthcare institutions and NGOs. Its first major project involved designing workshops on primary healthcare delivery for rural health workers in Sokoto State. By 2017, the company expanded its scope to include supply chain solutions, delivering medical equipment and consumables to clinics, hospitals, and organizations across Northern Nigeria.

Growth and Diversification (2018–2020)

In 2018, PAKAR secured a landmark partnership with the Intercountry Centre for Oral Health (ICOH) for Africa, serving as their training and research consultant until 2019. This collaboration elevated the company’s credibility and led to the establishment of its Research Management Division, specializing in health needs assessments and intervention program design. The year 2019 marked another milestone with a contract to supply medical equipment and consumables to Marie Stopes International’s Sokoto office, reinforcing PAKAR’s reputation as a reliable provider in Nigeria’s healthcare supply chain. By 2020, the company had built a database of over 1,000 research team members across Nigeria, enabling large-scale data collection for public health projects. Expansion and Innovation (2021–Present)

In 2021, PAKAR partnered with UNFPA and the Sokoto State Primary Health Care Development Agency to conduct groundbreaking research on Maternity Waiting Homes in Binji and Tangaza LGAs. This project highlighted the company’s ability to address maternal health challenges through community-centered solutions. The post-COVID era saw PAKAR pivot toward digital innovation. By 2023, the firm launched training programs on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in healthcare education, research, and practice catering to institutions like the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) and the Association of Medical Doctors in Academia (ASMEDA), Nigerian Medical Association Sokoto and FCT Abuja Branches. Today, PAKAR boasts: A 2,800+ member research team with leaders in all 22 Northern Nigerian states. Over 30 capacity-building workshops conducted on topics ranging from SPSS data analysis to cybersecurity. Recognition as a key partner for NGOs, government agencies, and academic institutions.
